The decision on where class of 2027 wide receiver Easton Royal will play football continues making headlines, with the 5-star recently setting gameday visit dates during the 2026 season. The New Orleans native and Brother Martin standout will be visiting LSU for its games against Clemson on September 5th and Texas on November 14th, according to Rivals insider Sam Spiegelman.
Royal is currently committed to Texas, but will visit Texas during their game on September 12th vs Ohio State and Gainesville for Florida vs Ole Miss on September 26th. The two visits to LSU should give fans some extra hope and could give the Tigers a real shot at landing Royal before the signing period begins in December. A team’s performance and the stadium’s atmosphere during a recruit’s visit can absolutely have an impact on their decision, and we know Death Valley will be rockin’ with Royal in attendance.
The opener versus Clemson looks to be an especially loaded stage. Not only is it Death Valley’s marquee non-conference test of the season, but it will also give us a look at the brand new offense with Lane Kiffin and company at the helm for the very first time. Kiffin’s staff, aided by the return of Ed Orgeron, has continued pushing hard since Royal’s official visit to Baton Rouge back in May.
The November 14th date carries its own weight, with LSU hosting Texas just weeks before the early signing period, meaning Royal’s final visit in Baton Rouge will come right as his decision window narrows. It will be an extremely important game for his decision, since the star receiver is still committed to Texas. Whether he’s still a Longhorn commit by then remains the question and LSU will get two opportunities at making an impression on Royal in person.
